Don Pasquale

Enjoy one of the last operas Donizetti wrote - Don Pasquale.  A classic opera buffa, Don Pasquale, is filled with lovely music enriched with a witty plot.  The humor in this opera originates from a complicated story involving mistaken identities, subterfuge, old fools and triumphant young love.  A summation of this opera could be an old man who takes a young wife is inviting trouble and confusion.

Lucia di Lammermoor

Lucia di Lammermoor is a tragic opera by Donizetti with a plot that echoes Romeo and Juliet. As the feuding famillies destroy the possibilities of marriage for the young lovers, we hear arias for baritone, tenor and soprano, as well as duets for tenor and soprano. Lucia di Lammermoor includes one of the most famous "mad scenes" in operatic history. As this opera ends we find our lovers dead and the chorus singing a prayer of pardon for their souls.
